IMA observed World Autism Day at Saraswathi College of Arts and Science, Vilappil. Dr. Mohan Roy, Associate Professor of Psychiatry Medical College Trivandrum ( he is also the Joint Secretary of IMA, Trivandrum) took an awareness class for our students and teachers. It was followed by a livelier interactive session. The core aspects of ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) including the symptoms of autism, its challenges with verbal and non – verbal communications, the need for empathy, the need for developing social ability were all discussed.
