The Department of Commerce, Saraswathi College of Arts and Science, Vilappil organized a webinar titled “Career in Commerce – Options & Challenges” on Saturday, 10 July 2021. The virtual event was hosted by Anupriya Krishna D, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce. The welcome address was delivered by Dr. Fouziya R, Head of the Department of Commerce, and Prof. N Jayakumar, Academic Director, Saraswathi College of Arts and Science, delivered the Presidential address. Felicitation address was done by Dr. Devi Mohan, Vice Chairman, Saraswathi Group of Institutions, and Prof. Radhika T K, Head of the Department of Geology. Dr. Manoj C, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce delivered the Vote of Thanks.
Dr.Gabriel Simon Thattil, Professor & Head, Department of Commerce, Director of IQAC, University of Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram was the Resource Person of the event. DR. Gabriel Simon Thattil commenced the session by talking about various jobs and opportunities associated with the stream of commerce. The session was categorised into three parts. The first part was about identifying and choosing a career path according to one’s passion, skill, talent, and interests. Then Dr. Gabriel Simon talked about various higher education prospects and job opportunities available for a commerce graduate in the contemporary world and also talked about post-COVID-19 pandemic opportunities accessible for them. Around 250 participants joined the online event through Google meet and YouTube live streaming. Dr. Gabriel’s session was very much informative and highly enlightening.
