Day 4: As part of the lecture series “Navigating the Literary Landscape,” organized by the Department of English, Dr. Parvathy G, Assistant Professor, VTM NSS college, Dhanuvachapuram,bcaptivated the audience with her expertise on “Adapting Narratives: The Alchemy of Film Adaptations” on 2nd December 2023. Drawing from her extensive experience as a researcher immersed in the realm of adaptations, she navigated through the historical criticisms faced by adaptations. Dr. Parvathy underscored the pivotal role of adaptations in the cinematic landscape, addressing prevalent prejudices against them. The presentation delved into nuanced discussions, including the complexities of adaptation versus appropriation and fidelity discourse. Concluding the seminar, Dr. Parvathy highlighted the contemporary relevance and the expansive scope of film adaptation studies in the present world.
