Saraswathi College of Arts and Science in association with Malayala Manorama organized a “Workshop & Webinar Series on Mental Health and Well-being during the COVID-19 Pandemic.” The inauguration ceremony was held on 11 February 2021. The welcome address was delivered by Prof. N Jayakumar, Academic Director, Saraswathi College of Arts and Science, Dr Rajamohan, Chairman, Saraswathi Group of Institutions, delivered the Presidential address, Dr Shibu K, Head of the Department of Psychology, University of Kerala, rendered the keynote address, C A Thomas, Deputy General Manager, Malayala Manorama and Dr G Gopkumar, Principal, Saraswathi College of Arts and Science rendered the felicitation address. A vote of Thanks was delivered by Dr Sreedevi V G, Head of the Department of Psychology, Saraswathi College of Arts and Science. Jiji Thompson, IAS was the Chief Guest of the ceremony.

After the inauguration ceremony, Siggy Antony, Director, ASK Counselling Centre, Thellakom and Course Director TRADA –De-addiction Centre, Manganam, conducted a workshop session on the “Significance of Positive Psychology and Well-being of Adolescents during COVID-19.” On the second day of the event, Dr Santosh Kumar, Nodal Officer, Tribal Health information Centre, Wayanad, rendered a very informative session on the COVID-19 Pandemic and how it’s been affecting our physical and mental health. Joseph Antony, Director, Mark & Phil Associates, Alappuzha, held the second session, a workshop on the relevance of using positive psychology techniques to inculcate constructive energy in our life. On 13th February 2021, Dr. Chandramohan K, Surgical Oncologist, Regional Cancer Centre, took a webinar session on “Health Care during COVID-19”, and gave us a good notion about the measures we have to take to care for our physical and mental health. The second webinar session by A R Rajeev Nair was on “Exploring Student Mental Health and Well-being amid COVID-19 with Special focus on Overcoming Exam Anxiety.”  Malayala Manorama yearbooks and certificates for the participants were distributed at the end of the second day.
