On 31st October, 2023, as part of World Mental Health Day Celebration, the Department of Psychology of Saraswathi College of Arts and Science conducted ‘Prajna’ the interschool psychology quiz competition for psychology students of Higher Secondary School discipline.
The quiz started at 10.30 am at the College Indoor Auditorium. Two teams each from three schools took part in the competition. The schools participated in Saraswathi Vidhyalaya Higher secondary School, Govt Higher secondary school, Chalai and St Thomas Higher secondary school.
The programme was coordinated by Dr, Jisha P, Head of the Department, Psychology. Dr. Deepasree, Ms. Gopika S S, Ms. Lekshmi Priya J R, faculties of the department of Psychology, were the quiz masters and Krishnaveni, 5th semester student of Psychology anchored the programme. Ms. Haritha S, faculty of the department of psychology managed the scoring process and 2 students accompanied her. There was a total of 4 rounds in which an eviction procedure conducted on the 3rd round. There were 6 teams in total such that students from all the schools were arranged as teams including 2 participants each, which was then named as STANLEYS SHOCKS, WESCHLERS WONDERS, PAVLOV’S PUPPIES, MILLER’S MAGIC, BANDURA’S BOBOS, and FREUD’S FLAMES.
A prize money of 4000rs was awarded for the winner team of the competition and it was bagged by WESCHLER’S WONDERS, the students from Saraswathi Vidhyalaya. The 2nd prize was awarded to PAVLOV’S PUPPIES, the students from St. Thomas School and the 3rd position was won by FREUD’S FLAMES, the students from St. Thomas School. They were awarded the cash prizes of 2000rs and 1000rs respectively.
